Harry PotterThe Boy Who LivedTrainer Type:
"You might think I'm using magic to win... but it's really just skill!"Pokemon:Noctowl: Hedwig, Harry's Friend
Harry's faithful companion, Hedwig, accompanies him throughout all seven books in the series. In Harry Potter, owls are typical creatures used by the magical community; similarly, Noctowl can use the Flying type moves expected of an owl, but also has psychic capabilities. If Harry lived in the world of Pokemon, I believe his starter would likely be a Hoothoot, because Hedwig was the first creature to join him on his adventures. She would remain with him even after he becomes the Champion of the Hogwarts League.Entei: The Symbol of Gryffindor House
Although I'm going to refrain from using legendaries whenever possible, I think this is the most appropriate time for one. Harry's house, Gryffindor, is symbolized by a lion; Entei is a mix of both Chinese guardian lions and various breeds of dogs. In addition, Entei's "mask" is gold and red, the Gryffindor house colours. Finally, Entei's status as a wandering legendary Pokemon aligns with Harry's knack for encountering rare magical creatures. While Entei might not agree to be tamed by Harry, it would definitely form a close bond with him.Arbok: Friend and Foe
While Harry befriends many positive creatures during his lifetime, one he'd much rather forgot is the snake. Not only are snakes deeply connected to Voldemort, each time Harry encounters one it seems to get him into trouble. Harry is a Parselmouth, someone capable of speaking snake language, due to his connection to Voldemort. Arbok possesses many traits that match up with stereotypes of Parselmouths. It is said that it "makes eerie sounds by expelling air from its mouth", much like the strange sounds Parselmouths seem to make when heard by other people. Like Voldemort, Arbok have "a very vengeful nature" and "won't give up the chase, no matter how far, once [they] target [their] prey". As a Pokemon trainer, Harry might come into possession of an Arbok by chance, but he would not be able to let it go until he defeated his greatest rival.Mightyena: The Power of Padfoot
Sirius Black is Harry's godfather and one of his most treasured people. Although Mightyena is based on a hyena, its appearance and behaviour link it closely to Sirius' Animagus form. Mightyena, like "Padfoot", has long, shaggy black fur, is very loyal, and works in a pack to defeat enemies. This pack mentality connects it to the Marauders, Sirius' school friends and mischievous accomplices. His decision to become an Animagus was based on a need to help his friend, Remus Lupin. Furthermore, Mightyena are known to only obey skilled Trainers. Sirius trusts and protects Harry, knowing that he is capable of making the right decision. After Hedwig/Noctowl, Sirius/Mightyena would be Harry's go-to Pokemon.Sawsbuck: Staggering Protector
Harry's father, James, is symbolised by a stag. Harry's patronus also takes on this form. Harry's admiration of his father is one of his key traits. The fur on Sawsbuck's winter form resembles the spectral wisps of a patronus, and his connection to the doe (Deerling) links it to Lily Potter's patronus. Sawsbuck would be very protective of Harry.Kecleon: Inherited Invisibility
Harry's final Pokemon would be handed down from his father, former League Champion James Potter. Kecleon, like Harry's invisibility cloak, can disappear at will. Less of a battling Pokemon, Harry would mainly use his Kecleon to get in and out of mischief. They would be close accomplices throughout their adventures together.
